Responsible Play

At Calgary Casino, we want gambling to stay what it should be: a form of entertainment you enjoy on your own terms. For most people that is exactly what it is, but for some it can become a problem. We take our responsibility to protect players seriously, and we give you practical tools to stay in control. This page explains those tools, how to recognise the warning signs and where to find free, confidential help.

Our Commitment

We are committed to:

  • Offering easy-to-use tools that let you set limits and take breaks.
  • Verifying identity, age and location before any deposit.
  • Training our team to recognise signs of harmful play and to respond with care.
  • Reaching out when your activity suggests you may be at risk.
  • Never marketing to self-excluded players or anyone under 19.
  • Pointing you towards independent support whenever you need it.

Keeping Gambling Healthy

A few simple habits can help:

  • Treat gambling as paid entertainment, not as a way to make money.
  • Only play with money you can afford to lose, and set a budget before you start.
  • Decide how long you will play and stick to it.
  • Never chase losses by betting more to win money back.
  • Avoid playing when you are upset, stressed or under the influence of alcohol.
  • Balance gambling with other activities you enjoy.

Tools You Control

You can set up most of these tools yourself in your account settings, or ask us to apply them by emailing help@calgarycasino.app.

Deposit, wager and stake limits

Set a maximum amount you can deposit, the total you can wager, or the largest single stake you can place over a daily, weekly or monthly period. Once you reach a limit, you will not be able to go further until the period resets.

Reality checks and time alerts

Choose to receive regular pop-up reminders during play showing how long you have been logged in and how much you have won or lost. These give you a natural moment to pause and decide whether to continue.

Take a break / cooling-off

If you need some time away, you can take a break for any period from 24 hours to 6 weeks. During that time you cannot log in to play or deposit, and we will not send you marketing. Your account reopens automatically at the end of the break.

Self-exclusion and account closure

If you feel you need a longer break, or want to stop gambling with us altogether, you can self-exclude or close your account. Self-exclusion blocks access for the period you choose and cannot be reversed before it ends. We will return any remaining verified balance and remove you from all marketing. We also recommend blocking gambling sites on your devices and considering self-exclusion programs offered in your province.

Self-assessment quiz

Our short self-assessment quiz asks honest questions about your gambling habits and helps you judge whether your play is still under control. It is private and takes only a few minutes.

KYC and geolocation checks before any deposit

Before you can deposit, we confirm your identity, your age and that you are located where our service is permitted. This protects minors, prevents fraud and ensures that our limits and exclusions apply to the right person.

How Limits Take Effect

We designed our limits to make it easy to play less and harder to make a rushed decision to play more:

  • Decreasing a limit takes effect instantly.
  • Increasing or removing a limit takes 24 hours to apply. This cooling-off period gives you time to think it over. You may need to confirm the change once the 24 hours have passed.

Self-Assessment: Warning Signs

Ask yourself the following questions. If you answer yes to any of them, it may be time to take a break or seek support:

  • Do you spend more money or time gambling than you intended?
  • Do you gamble to escape worries, boredom or difficult feelings?
  • Have you tried to win back money you have lost?
  • Have you borrowed money or sold possessions to gamble?
  • Has gambling caused arguments with family or friends?
  • Do you hide your gambling from people close to you?
  • Do you feel restless or irritable when you try to cut down?
  • Has gambling affected your work, studies, sleep or health?

You can also take our self-assessment quiz in your account for a more structured review.

Protecting Minors

Gambling with us is strictly for adults aged 19 and over. We verify age before any deposit and close any account found to belong to a minor. If you share a device with children, please keep your login details private, never save your password on shared devices and consider using parental-control software. More details are in our Underage Gambling Policy.
